연방 새 내각 ‘취임’…절반 가량은 새로운 얼굴

지난 4월 28일 연방선거에서 승리한 자유당 정부의 새로운 내각이 마침내 공개되었다.
오타와의 리도홀에서는 오늘 13일(화) 오전에 마크 카니 총리 및 새로 임명된 장관들의 취임식이 거행되었다.
이번에 새로 구성된 내각은 총 28명의 장관과 10명의 참모진으로 구성되었다. 이 중 전직 장관들은 부서 이동으로 새로운 부서를 맡은 가운데 내각의 절반 이상은 새로운 인물들로 채워졌다.
스티븐 맥키논은 하원의장에, 데이빗 맥귄티는 국방장관, 질 맥나이트는 재향군인 장관 겸 국방 부장관, 리나 메틀레지 디아브는 이민.난민.시민권 장관, 마조리 미셀은 보건 장관을 맡게 되었다.
또 크리스티아 프리랜드는 교통장관 겸 내부무역 장관, 애니타 아난드는 외무 장관, 프랑수와-필립 샴페인은 재무 장관 겸 국세 장관, 멜라니 졸리는 산업 장관 겸 퀘벡 지역의 캐나다 경제개발 장관에 임명되었다.
이번 새 내각에 임명된 장관들은 아래와 같다:

- Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Transport and Internal Trade
- Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture and Minister responsible for Official Languages
- Mandy Gull-Masty, Minister of Indigenous Services
- Patty Hajdu, Minister of Jobs and Families and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario
- Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources
- Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions

마크 카니 총리는 취임식 후 열린 기자회견에서,
“이번에 선출된 새 정부는 미국과 새로운 경제.안보 관계 정의 및 강력한 경제 구축, 생활비 감소, 커뮤니티의 안전 유지 등에 초점을 맞추고 있다.”라고 밝혔다.
또 ‘새로운 내각은 캐나다인이 원하고 당연히 받아야 할 변화를 전달하도록 구성되었다.’며 새로운 아이디어와 새로운 시각을 통해 각자 업무에서 결정적인 행동을 취할 것이라고 밝혔다.
