Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games is postponed due to COVID-19 Pandemic

As the fear of corona virus is spreading over the world, Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games has finally be postponed amid growing health concerns due to COVID-19.

 

Canada stands in solidarity with the international sport community and announced Canada not to join the 2020 Olympic Games.

 

On March 22, Team Canada announced that they would not send athletes to Games in summer 2020 due to COVID-19 risks. The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) urgently call on the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to postpone the Games for one year.

 

On Mar. 24, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President, Thomas Bach, and Japanese Prime Minister, Abe Shinzo, hold a conference call to discuss the constantly changing environenti regard to COVID-19 and ththat the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020.
