Golfer Im Sung-jae has finally won his first title on the U.S. PGA Tour after 48 attempts.
In the final round of the Honda Classic on March 1 in Palms Beach Gardens, Florida, he finished at six-under 274, finishing the round at 4-under-66 with seven birdies and three bogeys.
Winning the 2018-19 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award, Im is the seventh Korean to win a PGA event after Choi Kyung-ju, Yang Yong-eun, Bae Sang-moon, Noh Seung-yul, Kim Si-woo and Kang Sung-hoon.
“I’ve had several chances to win before, and my experience in being among the top helped me to close out (this tournament),” Im said, adding “I was able to win (through such experience).”
