66th commemorative ceremonies of the Korea War Armistice take place

On June 23rd (Sun), the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Canada, the Korean Veterans Association of Canada – National Capital Unit 7, and the Veterans Affairs Canada have hosted a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to Canadian Fallen and the National War Memorial to commemorate the 66th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice.
Over 400 participants including Ambassador H.E. Maeng-Ho Shin, Colonel Changbae Yoon, Stéphane Lauzon M.P., Senator Yonah Martin, Brigadier-General Colin Keiver, Mr. Bill Black, Veterans Associations from Toronto/Montreal, diplomatic corps and the Defence Attachés of the Korean War combatant countries, and Ottawa Koreans Associations have gathered to remember and honour the Fallen and the veterans.
Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted at the Chateau Laurier by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to appreciate the veterans and the families. During the reception, the Ambassador for Peace Medal was awarded to Mr. Ronald Foyle for his service during the Korean War. Petawawa Military Wives Choir has visited to perform for the veterans.
