Trudeau speaks with the Prime Minister of Jamaica

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Prime Minister Andrew Holness of Jamaica, who called to offer his congratulations to the Prime Minister on his re-election.

 

On Nov. 21, the leaders discussed key regional issues, including climate change and resilience-building, and regional security cooperation. Prime Minister Holness thanked Prime Minister Trudeau for the use of a Canadian Armed Forces C-130 Hercules to transport Jamaica Defence Force personnel to the Bahamas to assist in the response effort to Hurricane Dorian.

 

The Prime Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the friendship and close collaboration between Canada and Jamaica, based on shared values and strong people to people ties.
