Minister Jim Carr states to continue serving while treating his blood cancer

Jim Carr, former Minister of International Trade is diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.
After winning in his riding of Winnipeg South Centre at 2019 Federal Election, on October 25, he issued the statement about his health.
He experienced flu-like symptoms in recent weeks and his doctor requested routine bloodwork. So he was contacted by his doctor and instructed to go the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg late Monday evening.
“On Tuesday, I underwent further tests which let to a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, a type of blood cancer. This has also affected my kidney function. I have begun chemotherapy and dialysis treatment, which will continue for the near future.”
His constituency office will remain open to continue serving the needs of the residents of Winnipeg South Centre.
“I am feeling will, my spirits are high. I spoke to the Prime Minister and reiterated my commitment to continue serving my constituents and all Canadians.”
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, he wrote in his twitter, “My family and I are so grateful for the outpouring of well wishes from across Canada. I am feeling well and am surrounded by love and affection and I want to thank you all for your heartfelt expressions of support.”
