President of Chile & Mexico congratulate Trudeau’s re-election

After the federal election on October 21, congratulatory call is reaching continuously to Prime Minister Trudeau.
On October 31, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with President Sebastián Piñera of Chile and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who called respectively to offer his congratulations to the Prime Minister on his re-election.
The Prime Minister and the President of Chile exchanged views on key regional issues, including the importance of addressing people’s concerns around economic opportunity and inequalities. Prime Minister Trudeau also shared his concern about election irregularities in Bolivia.
They welcomed the collaboration between Canada and Chile on a range of shared priorities, including efforts to address the crisis in Venezuela. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing cooperation.
Also the Prime Minister and President of Mexico reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation between Canada and Mexico, and discussed progress being made towards the ratification of the new North American Free Trade Agreement.
The two leaders also discussed the importance of working together to create economic opportunities in both countries. The Prime Minister and President looked forward to working closely together on shared priorities.
