Liberal Party says that the Conservatives want to go back to the failed policies of the Harper years.
Justin Trudeau on Sept. 18 says, “Stephen Harper’s government cut benefits for seniors by raising the retirement age from 65 to 67. He didn’t campaign on that, he just went ahead and did it. And the Conservatives will do that again.”
The party promises to give more support to raise children:
- 15% increase in CCB for kids under 1
- Tax-free maternity & parental benefits
- 15-week leave for adoptive parents
- Paid Family Leave for *every* parent with a new child
Relating to Andrew Scheer’ promise that he will cut $7.5 billion in jobs support”, the party says, “His math doesn’t add up. What else will he cut?” “Like Doug Ford, Andrew Scheer is promising cuts on a five-year timeline to balance the budget. The problem is that today’s announcement is far from the $39 billion he needs to cut to pay for all his campaign announcements so far.” The party added that Andrew Scheer needs to tell Canadians what jobs and workers he will target.
