President Moon Jae-in on Sept. 11 delivered Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) greetings to the nation.

In a video message uploaded on Cheong Wa Dae’s social networking accounts, he said, “I hope for a fair country for everyone like a full moon evenly lighting the world from a mother’s crooked back to a small window frame,” adding, “I will always do my best for a day when everyone can smile.”

“A vibrant economy will make people affluent, a fair society will give mutual trust and a peaceful Korean Peninsula will allow people to hold hands.”

The president also said, “We’re now moving toward a new direction for a prosperous nation for all,” adding, “I’m confident that at the end of the road, we will reach a day just like Chuseok, no more or less.”

He also offered his consolation to those negatively impacted by Typhoon Lingling and thanked people who help the needy and protect public safety even during the holiday season, adding, “I wish that everyone can share a warm welcome throughout the Chuseok holiday.”
